Cem Albukrek

Cem Albukrek holds BS, MS and PhD degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Cornell University. With a minor in Applied Mathematics, he is an expert in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and its application in aerodynamic design.

In 2002, Dr. Albukrek joined Delta Search Labs, Inc. to lead an innovative CFD software development project. As part of his role as a computational scientist, Dr. Albukrek developed significant US government proposal work in computational physics, plasma modeling and bio-informatics.

In 2004, he joined Exa Corporation, specializing in CFD products for the automotive industry. He assumed a consultant role to guide clients in aerodynamic design, engine cooling and induction issues. In his initial assignments, he took part in the aerodynamic optimization of Nissan Murano, Qashqai and Infiniti G series. Soon after, projects in the optimization of Toyota Race Development (TRD) Tundra and Camry NASCAR vehicles were carried out under his leadership.

In 2006, he joined the product management group to launch a successful product for automated simulation post-processing. He led a global program to integrate the technology into the R&D processes of Ford, Chrysler, VW, BMW, Porsche, Peugeot, Toyota and Nissan.  In his latest role at Exa, Dr. Albukrek served as a technical manager for General Motors, Magna Steyr and Polaris. He has significant contributions to the aerodynamic and induction refinements of the GM Z28 Camaro vehicle.

Dr. Albukrek founded CAEbridge, LLC at the end of 2008. He is in the process of expanding a portfolio of fluid dynamic analysis and optimization consulting work to the energy and marine sectors.

Dr. Albukrek has contributed a book chapter in applied mathematics, acted as a reviewer for publications in wavelet analysis and turbulence, authored numerous technical papers in numerical solver technology and vehicle aerodynamics. In 2010, he served as an expert witness in a litigation trial involving mathmatical algorithms and engineering software. Through his lifetime devotion to sailing as a former competitor and instructor, technology development for marine design and related application areas is his continued interest.

During 2010-11, Dr. Albukrek will be pusuing the prestigious MIT Sloan Fellows Program in Innovation and Global Leadership as he continues his CAEbridge business development activities.
