Glossary

A fluid is defined as a substance that continually deforms (flows) under an applied shear stress. Fluids are a subset of the phases of matter and include liquids, gases, plasmas and to some extent plastic solids. What differentiates these fluids from each other are their characteristic viscosity and density values. As long as these values are properly defined, CFDⁱ can model any fluid and its dynamics.
